Step 3: You can apply the wax with light pressure in a circular, back and forth and/or up and down motion, remember to stretch the wax nice and thin.Step 2: Make sure you only have a very thin amount on your applicator pad.Step 1: Using a clean foam applicator pad, gently wipe it across the top of the paste wax (for a harder paste wax you may need to exert more pressure in a circular motion).A good rule of thumb is to re-apply a carnauba once a month (12 times a year).

If water begins to pool and look flat on your paint, then chances are there is little to no protection remaining and it's advised to apply another coat of wax. As you maintain your vehicle, keep an eye out for how well the water beads and sheets off your paint. The key is to re-apply your coat of protection before the previous coat runs out. Some of the major factors are if your car is stored in a garage or outside, how many miles are driven, the type of weather conditions your vehicle is exposed to, how well your paint was prepped prior to applying the wax, the frequency of washing your vehicle, and type of shampoo. There are many factors that go into determining how long a wax will last.

Layering and Cure Times (Return to Top)Īpplying multiple coats or layers of wax can add more protection, gloss and shine to the surface. Carnauba waxes are what you want to use when you want the absolute wettest finish possible. Carnauba waxes often bead water better than sealants, which makes your vehicle easier to maintain. Personally, I would sooner use my gold class liquid wax than use that stuff. I`m still cool with most of the guys, but after getting kicked out, i pretty much stayed out. I have no doubt that the president (who also happed to be the guy pushing this stuff) was responsible for me getting the boot. Shortly after, I was dismissed from the club. Even after they saw this, they basically dismissed what I had to show them. The section with ibiz looked ok, the section with just the glaze looked good, the section with carnuba looked better, and the section with glaze/ carnuba looked best. This made four differnt sections that had product on the hood. Just to show them in person, i prep-soled the whole hood, and did the process all over for them with a twist- this time I combined the glaze and then topped it with the carnuba. When I showed my results to the guys, they just dismissed it, claiming that since i work in a body shop, that I probably screwed around to make the ibiz look bad. The sides with the glaze and carnuba looked a lot better. in fact, I hit the the hood with my Fill N Glaze on one side, and then some Mother`s liquid carnuba on the other side, and left the ibiz in the middle of the hood. True, it did clean things a up a little, but it did nothing to enhance shine or gloss. I got some to try out on my car (then a, 91 civic that was well maintained by me), and I was totally unimpressed with it. When I suggested doing their cars with my stuff (all 3m at the time), they laughed at me, and told me ibiz was the best ever. One of their guys was suppossed to be a distributor and claimed he was one of the only sources for the stuff. Used to hang with a car club a while back that swore by the stuff.
